Jacked Up - Erin McCarthy This is the first time I write a review before I'm done with a book, and that is not a good thing. I'm about 2/3 through and hope I can make myself finish it. It is past the point of no return for me and I know that regardless of the ending, this will not change.

Let me start off by saying that I really like Erin McCarthy, but I cannot stand Eve. This story makes no sense to me. I understand wanting to create obstacles and difficulties that they have to overcome to be together, but this is ridiculous, Eve doesn't deserve Nolan. The only man in her life not related to her should be a shrink. The woman has waaaaaayyyyyyy too many issues and should remain single. At this point the only way this story can redeem itself is for Nolan to forget all about Eve and find someone else. I've never so strongly dislike a female character unless I'm meant to which I don't think was the idea here.

I was actually really looking forward to this book. I thought we would get to see another side of Eve and that it would clear up how she has been portrayed in other books. I was expecting excuses or explanations about why she did the things she did and it turns out that she was just a crazy, rude, obnoxious, cranky, unhappy, unsatisfied woman. There was never any other side of her to see. This is who she is.

I wish I never found out.

All of this said, I really liked this series, I would just skip this book but the prior ones are definitely worth reading.
